Character Hooks

  • Verci – bandit centaurs take the final blow against the poison drakes and claim victory. They recognize Verci from his time with them. Gets a sign from Queen Thorgerd – Queen of the Huldramose that he follows a dark god best left alone. The Hunter disagrees.
  • Wynasia – The Huldra revere her for her travels and ask tales of her time with the Perenalia. What is it like to train under the daughter of a god?
  • Durrim – His brother is a Loki cultist, Jago Redboot, who secretly passes the message of Ragnarok for the lols.
  • Rohallin – He senses the world tree. Just barely struggling to survive. Maybe he can help. Maybe he can pass a branch to Grella – God-Queen of the Glen.
  • Bruno – Can feel the twisted connection of four cults – Ragnarok, Chernobog, Boreas, and Loki – they’re all pulling at the site.
  • HB – Jago Redboot recognizes him as some sort of avatar of Loki. That’s how the legend of the Founder is spreading. For the lols.

Secret and Clues

  • ‣ is a relative of Durrim who went north and never came back.
  • The gods of the north have a closer connection to their followers but not as close as the gods of the south who practically walk among their own.
  • The Huldra have a secret sapling of the world tree they took from Thorn, the elven city across the sea. It is young and delicate and they hope to help it grow mighty and strong.
  • During the reaving, the northern dwarven kingdom falls. The surviving dwarves declare war on the elves. The elves flee from the North to the West.
  • During the Vanir wars the gods warred among themselves until Wotan brokers a truce, ending the Vanir War.
  • Some believe Chernobog is actually a mask of the dragon god Boreas – the Northern Wind.
  • Three Windlords of the Dominion banish Boreas the North Wind to the Northlands.
  • Boreas (392) aims to cover all of Midgard with eternal winter, and prophecies foretell that he’ll one day succeed. He works tirelessly to ensure that his day of victory comes soon. From the highest mountain in the North he brews storms and dispatches giants, thuellai, yeti, and other
  • The Huldra worship Frigg, wife of Wotan, and mother of the world. She is clever and powerful in the ways of magic with a connection to the Jotun.
  • The giants claim Jotunheim, a land that bubbles with primal energies. This is the last remnant of a much greater land (so they claim), destroyed by the gods shortly after the First War, when the Aesir and Vanir joined forces to crush their dreams of glory.
  • During a terrible winter in which the overland routes to Nordheim were blocked, something crept up from the depths of the earth to extinguish its hearths and forge fires, destroying the dwarven capital from within.
  • The queens of Huldramose conceal the presence of a World Tree sapling, the Two Queens’ Tree, said to be cut from the World Tree the dwarves once attacked in Thorn. Few know of the tree outside the royal household, but its growth is swift—soon it will be too tall to keep the secret of its existence.
